We do this for our community.

What is Bloom?

“Bloom” named by our very first SOFLX Pride youth group is the foundation of our work. We provide safe and celebratory spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to celebrate the blooming of all identities and stories in our community.

Bloom programming is run by LGBTQIA+ community members for LGBTQ+ young adults and teens in the Southern Finger Lakes.

What are Bloom Programs?

  • Queer Social Events

Hosted in partnership with local businesses. We host teen, 21+, and 24+ social events including a Queer Social Club at Card Carrying Books and Gifts.

  • GATLAS

In partnership with local libraries, we host GATLAS (gay at the library after school) a GSA-style community group for LGBTQIA+ youth ages 13-17.

  • 18+ Support Groups

Facilitated by SOFLX mental health professionals designed to connect and support our queer and trans community.

  • Camp Fruit Fly

For LGBTQIA+ youth ages 15 - 18. Join us for a week of overnight camp at The Y at Watson Woods. We have all the camp classics, from arts and crafts to campfires, axe throwing, and curated sessions with our camp counselors.

EMPOWERMENT & SUPPORT

Southern Finger Lakes Pride stands with others for equity and justice and in denouncing racism, intolerance, and exclusion. We believe that taking this stand is not enough. We, alongside our diverse community, have been on a path to identify how to build the core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion into our nonprofit’s operations as we advance our mission.

We believe that embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion as organizational values is a way to intentionally make space for positive outcomes to flourish for our LGBTQ+ community and community as a whole.

You are always welcome where we are.

A heartfelt thank you to Corning Inc. for their generous donations and support of Bloom programs and SOFLX Pride. Thank you for making pride possible in the Southern Finger Lakes.
