We do this for our community.

What is Bloom?

“Bloom” named by our very first SOFLX Pride youth group is the foundation of our work. We provide safe and celebratory spaces for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to celebrate the blooming of all identities and stories in our community.

Bloom programming is run by LGBTQIA+ community members for LGBTQ+ young adults and teens in the Southern Finger Lakes.

What are Bloom Programs?

  • Queer Social Events

We know being in shared queer spaces is magic. This year we’ve partnered with local businesses to host teen, 21+, and 24+ social events including a Queer Social Club at Card Carrying Books and Gifts.

  • 18+ Support Groups

In partnership with Southern Finger Lakes Pride, Root to Rise hosts 18+ peer support groups with mental health professionals. Queer Ally Circle + Trans & Non-Binary Support Group.

  • Summer Camp

Become part of the original Bloom Paq this summer at The Y at Watson Woods. SOFLX Pride and The PAQ are hosting two one-week overnight camp sessions for LGBTQIA+ campers ages 13-18. We will have all the camp classics from arts and crafts to campfires and axe throwing + curated sessions with our camp counselors.

  • 13- 17 Youth Groups

In partnership with Steuben and Dormann Libraries we host after-school GSA-style community groups for youth ages 13-17.

EMPOWERMENT & SUPPORT

Southern Finger Lakes Pride stands with others for equity and justice and in denouncing racism, intolerance, and exclusion. We believe that taking this stand is not enough. We, alongside our diverse community, have been on a path to identify how to build the core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion into our nonprofit’s operations as we advance our mission.

We believe that embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion as organizational values is a way to intentionally make space for positive outcomes to flourish for our LGBTQ+ community and community as a whole.

We will always have a space for you!
